what are essential oils, anyway?
You’ve probably heard people talking about essential oils. They're all over social media. They're on the shelves at most stores these days. But essential oils aren't some flash-in-the-pan trend. They've been around for thousands of years, and they're wicked cool!
So, what exactly ARE essential oils?
They’re the life blood of a plant, and when these plants are grown in the right conditions, harvested at the correct time, and distilled with the utmost care (you can read more about Young Living's Seed to Seal process here) they can help us keep our bodies healthy, well, and happy - which is how our bodies were intended to be.
Essential oils are made of tiny molecules that are so small they can pass directly into our cells. They can even cross the blood-brain barrier into the limbic system (where memory, emotion + trauma are held) which is how they affect our mood!

Because of labeling loopholes, companies are able to put misleading “100% pure” labels on their oil bottles - yet these may contain synthetic oils and additives. This is NOT what you want to put on or in your body!
Most essential oils on the market today contain synthetics, fragrance, and fillers. This is how they keep the costs down. I don't know about you, but I only want to put the BEST quality products on and in my body. I'd rather pay for quality now than pay in some other way down the line.

COMMON FAQ'S
But aren't Young Living oils more expensive?
Yes they are, and that's OK by me. You get what you pay for! If you want cheap oils that don't do much, Young Living oils aren't the oils for you. Lots of companies have jumped on the essential oils bandwagon trying to make an easy buck. They make cheap oils by purchasing questionable quality oils in bulk... diluting with synthetic additives... adding in fillers, and skimping on testing. I'm not OK using sub-par "oils" on my family. I would rather pay for oils that are pure and do what they're supposed to do.
How do I know if my oils are good quality?
Unfortunately, the oil industry is not regulated. So you'll need to do your own research. If you can't walk onto your oil company's farms and watch them distill their oils at their very own distilleries, and know the detail and standards that go into every single farm, partner farm, and supplier - then don't buy oils from them. There’s a reason Young Living is the world leader, and has been, for 28 years.
Do I need to own a lot of oils in order to get the benefits?
No. In fact, just one Starter Bundle will set you up with the oils you need at the start.
What if I don't want to ingest oils?
You don't have to. Even just diffusing or applying oils topically will be a great experience!
Do I need to be an aromatherapist to use essential oils?
